Institut technologique de maintenance industrielle

The Institut technologique de maintenance industrielle (ITMI), a college centre for technology transfer (CCTT) under the jurisdiction of the Cégep de Sept-Îles, was created in 2008 to support innovation in the field of maintenance.

Its mandate is based on three complementary areas: applied research, technical assistance and training. Through these activities, the ITMI contributes directly to the development and implementation of technological and social innovation projects, thus promoting the implementation and dissemination of innovative practices.

At the heart of its interventions, ITMI values maximum efficiency practices, while integrating issues related to sustainable development, notably energy efficiency and health-safety. He also holds an industrial research chair in railway maintenance and operation from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), thus strengthening its role as a catalyst for knowledge and innovation.

In an industrial basin where the reliability of equipment is a strategic issue, ITMI offers tailored support to northern-coastal and Quebec industries.

The ITMI continually expands its fields of action in order to respond to changing industrial needs and technological transformations, relying for this purpose on its multidisciplinary expertise, its specialized resources and its eight niches:
