Société de développement de la Baie-James - Economic development

The mission of the Société de développement de la Baie-James, SDBJ, an agency mandated by the Québec government, is to promote sustainable economic development in the James Bay region, by developing and exploiting natural resources. SDBJ supports and participates in projects aimed at achieving these objectives, while fostering collaboration with the region's various public and private partners.

In accordance with the governance agreement with the territory of Eeyou Istchee Baie-James, SDBJ may also receive mandates from government departments, agencies or corporations. The Cree Nation Government and the Regional Government of Eeyou Istchee Baie-James may propose mandates or projects to SDBJ, at the expense of the governments concerned.

SDBJ aims to be a proactive organization, recognized for its significant economic contributions to the region. Its key values include competence, agility, collaboration, respect and integrity. These values guide SDBJ's management and relationships with its customers, partners and employees, while striving to meet stakeholder needs and expectations with honesty and respect.
